ABOUT ABOUT

Please note: Due to an uncertain forecast, the Cinema Under the Stars screening of Crooklyn has moved indoors. Chrome Dreams and Infinite Reflections: American Photorealism will still be open from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The film will begin at 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Seats are first come, first served. A cash bar will be open in our gallery lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m., and drinks may be enjoyed in the lobby. Food and drink items are not permitted in the auditorium.

While we always prefer to host this event on our front lawn, we are pleased to still be able to offer an evening at Reynolda, free of charge, to enjoy both art and cinema. We hope you’ll join us for Crooklyn, and for our September 2 screening of The Apartment and September 16 screening of La La Land.

Reynolda’s Friday night outdoor film series continues this year with an exciting addition: free museum admission from 6:30–8:30 p.m. to see the fall exhibition, Chrome Dreams and Infinite Reflections: American Photorealism. The film will be shown at dark, typically around 8:30 p.m., on the main lawn of Reynolda House. Gates open at 6 p.m., and a cash bar will be available. Films are curated by a/perture cinema, selected because they evoke the imagery and expression of Chrome Dreams.

Spike Lee’s semi-autobiographical film takes place in 1975 Brooklyn, New York. It follows a young girl named Troy Carmichael (played by Zelda Harris), and her family. Troy learns life lessons through her rowdy brothers Clinton, Wendell, Nate, and Joseph; her loving but strict mother Carolyn (Alfre Woodard); and her naive, struggling father Woody (Delroy Lindo). This film is rated PG-13.
